Today (June 4th), a special art exhibition with the theme of "In the Name of Love" is on display at the Ningbo Art Museum.
Flowers, birds, fishes, children... More than ten unique and infectious paintings were exhibited on site, all from the hands of autistic students at Damin School in Ningbo.
These works were independently completed by our children. They are different from children of the same age, but they are also full of creativity and imagination. Art has brought them together with ordinary children, "said Qiao Junfang, Vice Principal of Damin School in Ningbo.
It is reported that the "Big Hand Hold Little Hand" public welfare club activity of Damin School has received support from various sectors of society since its launched in 2016. Nearly one thousand students in the school have explored their artistic strengths through public art courses. Such as street dance, folk dance, ballet, painting, floral art, calligraphy, and have gained opportunities for the integration of pop and special arts.
This exhibition originated from an art event 7 years ago. In 2016, Zhang Jie, the person in charge of "Miao Xiang Space", a collaborative organization for the popularization of the "One Person, One Art" national art in Ningbo, and volunteer teachers walked into Damin School in Ningbo.
The children's desire for painting and the artistic appeal of their works moved us very much, so from that year on, we insisted on giving children a public welfare art class every week. "Zhang Jie introduced.
Under the matchmaking and bridging of the Miao Xiang Space, Jin Guannuo, a child who had studied art since childhood, entered Damin School and collaborated with the children here to create art.
The experience at Damin School deeply touched Jin Guannuo. In addition to more than ten works brought by special children, more than 30 acrylic paintings by Jin Guannuo were also exhibited on site.
These works all stem from this experience, like the painting of the starry sea, which aims to express our friendship. I think we all share the same passion for painting and can get along well. I hope everyone can experience their inner world together, "Jin Guannuo said.
It is reported that the exhibition will continue until June 15th and will be open for free to the public. All exhibited works will undergo a charity sale after the exhibition, and the proceeds will be used for charitable purposes.
